About Us
Where we work
Our team works in hospital wards, specialist cancer units and hospices, in Gateshead and Newcastle. Our sessions are available for patients, their companions and staff and we welcome participation at any level.

What we do
THE PROJECT’s unique and innovative feature is to pair a professional artist with a qualified counselling facilitator, providing a therapeutic engagement. This could be an opportunity to create something different, maybe contributing to a bigger piece of artwork or simply enjoying the creative process.
We offer a listening ear as we are aware that dealing with illness can be stressful and distressing for everyone involved. The emotional support we offer might come through friendly conversation around the artwork or someone might want to discuss something more personal at a deeper level.
Who we are
Room for You is an arts in health project working across the North East. It was set up in 2001 by two ex-patients to help relieve the tension and apprehension often felt by patients and their families undergoing cancer treatment.
